Hublot is a Swiss luxury watch company founded by Italian visionary, Carlo Crocco. Drawing inspiration and innovation from his family of watchmakers, Crocco first launched Hublot in 1980 at the Baselworld watch fair. As a newcomer in the luxury watch industry competing against other long-established and highly revered brands, Hublot’s name slowly gained recognition throughout the 1990’s – first in Europe and later in the United States. Straying from conventional designs of luxury watches of the time, Hublot has earned its stripes within the industry and created a name for itself, quickly becoming known for its extravagant designs and revolutionary choices of materials. In 2004, Jean-Claude Biver was appointed CEO of Hublot and introduced the “fusion” concept of combining materials to the brand while preserving its distinctive designs. Soon after, Biver launched Hublot’s revolutionary and multi award-winning flagship collection, the Big Bang, which has continued to evolve to become the brand’s most well-known watch. In 2008, Hublot was acquired by LVMH – the world’s leading luxury goods group, marking a significant turning point for the growth and expansion of the brand.
