Rolex New Releases 2021 – A Leaked Sneak Peak

Updated April 7th, 2021.

Exciting news in the watch world is right around the corner. Rolex will be announcing its soon-to-be newest releases on April 7th. And just like with the highly anticipated release of just about anything, there has been much speculation and gossip amongst the watch community – far and wide. Amidst all the hype, there has been some leaked intel that we at The Watch Standard have become privy to – giving us an exciting sneak peek of some of the new Rolex lineup that we, of course, felt inclined to share.

Sky-Dweller 326934 + Sky-Dweller 326933

Sure to be a part of the next generation of Rolex timepieces is the ever-popular Sky-Dweller. Photos of the new ref. 326933 and ref. 326934 have shown the models to have a new makeover – specifically with its bracelet. Already known as the brand’s “most complicated watch” – complete with not only a GMT function, a fluted bidirectional bezel with the Ring Command system, and an annual calendar that automatically adjusts per the wearer’s local time zone – the new Sky-Dweller models will now come fitted with the elaborate Jubilee bracelet, giving this stunner a whole new look and new level of sophistication.

The Rolex GMT-Master II will be available on the Oyster Bracelet and the Jubilee bracelet

GMT-Master II

Another exciting newcomer to be announced is the revamped GMT-Master II ref. 126710BLNR. Originally available with only the jubilee bracelet, the new model will now come available in the classic 79200 Oyster bracelet as well – giving this modern GMT-Master II a more robust bracelet to complement the watch’s overall rugged appeal.

The Rolex Daytona now comes with a meteorite dial and in white gold.

Also part of the new releases, two modern favorites of the of the Rolex Daytona – the ref. 116519LN and the ref. 116509 – are essentially doing a switching and trading faces. The 116519LN, first launched in 2017 in 18kt white gold, with a steel dial and black subdials, will be reintroduced with a cosmic makeover – sporting a flashy new meteorite dial. This new dial will set in perfect contrast with its black Oysterflex bracelet. Whereas the Daytona ref. 116509, originally made with the white gold case and meteorite dial, will now have the custom steel dial and black subdials – giving it truly a bold and modern face to offset the timeless Oyster bracelet.

The day has come, and the highly anticipated 2021 releases are here. Of all the new additions, we feel most excited to highlight the long overdue upgrade to the ever-classic Rolex Explorer. Staying true to the clean streamline appearance that’s signature to the Explorer collection – with its distinctive black dial, chromalight display on its hands and hour markers, and characteristic 3, 6, and 9 numerals – the new model, ref. 124273, is now available in a two-tone variation of Oystersteel and 18ct yellow gold. With a gleaming smooth gold bezel to frame its sleek black dial, and bright gold center links of its Oyster bracelet, the iconic Explorer has received a completely spruced up aesthetic overhaul – its biggest makeover since it first came out in 1953.

The “classic watch of reference”, the Rolex Datejust, has made quite the reintroduction along with the new 2021 releases – with several stunning new facelifts. With a total of four new designs to choose from, the next generation of Datejusts is causing quite a stir among watch enthusiasts and Rolex fans. All the new Datejusts have a 36mm case – 2 of which come with the Oyster bracelet and the other 2 with the Jubilee bracelet. For the first time, a tropical-inspired aesthetic has been introduced to Rolex’s wide array of signature dial designs. Three of the new Datejust dials have the new palm leaf motif – in olive green, gold, and silver. The olive green palm dial is complemented with a stainless-steel case, smooth bezel, and Oyster bracelet on the new Datejust ref. 126200. The Datejust ref. 126223 features the gold palm dial, elegantly framed with a yellow gold fluted bezel, and a two-tone Oyster bracelet in Oystersteel and yellow gold. The silver palm dial is perfectly matched with an Everose gold fluted bezel paired with a sophisticated two-tone Jubilee bracelet in Oystersteel and Everose gold on the Datejust ref. 126231. The fourth newly revealed Datejust has a stunning gold dial with an elaborate fluted motif design that creates some real playful light reflections. This distinctive new face is beautifully framed with a yellow gold fluted bezel, and is further complemented with a two-tone Jubilee bracelet in Oystersteel and yellow gold – all contributing to an ever-so-intricate aesthetic for the new Datejust ref. 126233.
